It wasnt exactly a good start to our Redang trip. Halfway through the bumpy boat ride, it started raining and we had to experience being wet before even stepping foot onto the island itself.

Room condition wasnt that good either with leakages dampening our moods. Bushed from a 12 hour which i thought they say it was 9.. bloody hell ride, we decided to start playing twister before embarking on our first snorkeling trip at 2.30.

well lunch wasn't that good either.. fancy them ringing the bell to ask us out for lunch. well i wouldnt wan to say that we feel like inmates how we feel at that point in time but i already didnt quite like Kalong resort.

After lunch it was time to get prepared for our first snorkeling trip. The thing i dun like about Redang is that i could not get tanned enough cuz the boat ride was sheltered meaning i could not get any tanning!

One major difference from Kalong resort and Laguana resort is that Kalong are more flexible and specialised.. well, girls are always nice to be on a trip with as they can sweet talk and banter with the ppl there.. they gave us special attention and even brought us for another round of snorkeling trip when others returned.. just the 6 of us to see turtles and sharks!


they call him "Tiger" though i do not understand why.. very nice to us and bringing us to see turtles and sharks..


Tim - a diving instructor instructor. had a chat with him on a particular night and was very friendly. His brother is the boss of Kalong Resort but they didnt put on any airs..

Tim told us his brother was good at card tricks and thus we decided to ask him to show a trick or two. All i can say was all of us were absolutely stunned how he managed to do those tricks right under our noses.. we just stared at each other at disbelief..

We had a packed schedule on Day 2 as we wanted to do alot of things but had little time. i was so exhausted by the activities and flu that i fell asleep on both days while waiting for others to finish bathing. We went to the more popular Laguana Resort and it was hell lot of difference! Much better atmosphere but ultimately it boils down to whether you wan to relax(kalong) or play hard(Laguana).

we wanted to take the banana boat on day 2 after our snorkeling trip but the girls decided that looking at sea-turtles was more to their preferance and they decided to forgo that..

we wanted to stay awake the whole night to see sunrise the last day but our tiredness gave way and we fell asleep at 3am only to wake up at 5am.. waited for quite some time before we could see any light.


wasn't exactly the nicest of sunrise but not too much complaints either..
